MBA at Kozminski University among the best in the world

Executive MBA (EMBA) at Kozminski University in Warsaw was ranked 47th the top 100 programs of its kind in the world, according to a ranking published on Oct. 21 by the Financial Times.

Most places in the top ten of the prestigious ranking were taken by international programs offered by American, Chinese and European universities. The first place went to the Chinese-American Kellogg/Hong Kong UST MBA program. On the were also: Tsinghua/INSEAD EMBA (China, France, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates) and Columbia/London Business School.

"MBA at Kozminski University is the only Polish program and the highest ranked program of this type offered by business schools in Central and Eastern Europe" - told PAP the university spokesperson Ewa Barlik.

The Executive MBA program at Kozminski University was rated almost the same as last year - then it was 46th. In this year\'s ranking it was just behind Cornell University and the University of Michigan, and before such well-known institutions as the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, Emory University and Ohio State University.

According to the Rector of Kozminski University Prof. Witold Bielecki, co-founder and long-time supervisor of MBA and Executive MBA programs, high position in the EMBA ranking is a big success for the Kozminski University. "Satisfaction with the excellent result of our EMBA program is the greater that we have and author program under our own brand, and we do not have a support of a the widely recognised American or British university. At Kozminski we were able to assemble a team of Polish and international eminent researchers, lecturers, consultants and practitioners, who help active managers in career development" - said the Kozminski University rector.

Executive MBA program is designed for senior managers who want to deepen knowledge, exchange experiences and to accelerate their careers. Therefore, the position of in the Financial Times EMBA ranking is in more than 50 percent determined by graduates’ achievements, their salaries three years after completing EMBA, salary change after graduation, achieved career goals, promotions, higher positions and work in an international environment. Other evaluated areas include diversification, percentage of women and foreigners among faculty, students, and authorities (about 25 percent overall score) as well as the scientific level of universities: the number of publications, faculty holding doctoral degrees and their experience at leading business schools (20 percent).

In total, more than 50 U.S. and Canadian universities (individually and in consortia) were included in the Financial Times Executive MBA ranking. Asia is a region that is represented stronger every year. The ranking included nearly 20 business schools in China, seven in Singapore, schools in South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain.

The Executive MBA is the most demanding and prestigious education program for managers, offered only by selected business schools. The Kozminski University EMBA program is four semesters, and their graduates are members of the senior management at Polish and foreign companies, organizations and economic institutions. A quarter of EMBA lecturers at Kozminski are foreign scientists and experts, often with experience at global corporations, consulting companies, financial institutions and international organizations.
