Executive MBA (EMBA) course at Kozminski University in Warsaw was on the 46th place among the top 100 programs of this kind in the world, according to the Financial Times ranking released on October 15.

"This is the highest position of the program offered by Kozminski University in the prestigious ranking. Kozminski University is the only representative of this type of programs in Central and Eastern Europe in the ranking" - told PAP the university spokeswoman Ewa Barlik.

The top of the FT ranking is dominated by international programs, in large part created by consortia of universities from different countries. For three years now the winner has been the program of Kellogg/Hong Kong UST Business School (HK UST-Kellogg EMBA), the second place winner is American-British EMBA - Global Americas and Europe (Columbia and London Business School), and in third place Trium Global EMBA (consortium of HEC Paris, London School of Economics and New York University, Stern).

"The FT ranking is still dominated by U.S. business schools that offer or co-offer nearly half (as many as 45) of the 100 ranked programs. In addition, there are six programs with participation of universities in Canada. Second pole of managerial education is in Asia, where 26 leading Executive MBA programs are based"- said Kozminski University spokeswoman.

The ranking also includes many European management training programs. British business schools participate in 12 programs in the FT ranking. Six EMBA programs are in France, five in Switzerland, four in Germany and Spain, three in the Netherlands. The list also includes European business schools in Denmark, Ireland, Austria, Italy, Finland and Poland (Kozminski University). New MBA education centres are in Brazil (three centres), Mexico, Colombia, Peru and South Africa (one program).

In evaluating business schools, the Financial Times takes into account three groups of criteria: career development of graduates (career progression, the level and growth of annual income, change of the position of graduates), diversity of the university (the proportion of women in the faculty and among students, internationalisation, i.e. foreign lecturers, students and advisers) and the generation of ideas (qualified staff and scientific achievements).

"The Executive MBA program is created based on the model of education developed a hundred years ago in American universities and modified many times since" - said Sylwia Hałas-Dej, director of the Center of Excellence at Kozminski University. "Today is the international standard, endorsed by the organization AMBA, which also accredits our program. Program changes, adaptats to the latest trends in education management. We, too, this year introduce changes consisting mainly in stronger emphasis on personal and career development of executives" - she added.

Executive MBA at Kozminski University is a year and a half international program for senior executives. Its graduates are managers of Polish and foreign companies, organizations and economic institutions. A quarter of the EMBA faculty at Kozminski University are foreign scientists and experts. Executive MBA diploma at Kozminski University has been awarded to nearly 1,400 students. This year, 37 students started EMBA Kozminski in in March, and 36 in October.
