Antonina Leśniewska - the first woman in Poland who opened her own pharmacy

The first woman in the world who opened a female pharmacy, the first to obtain a license for her own pharmacy in Poland, a social activist - Antonina Leśniewska, patron of the Warsaw Museum of Pharmacy. She was a unique figure, says the manager of the institution, Iwona Arabas.

    Two Polish scientists on the EU quantum technologies advisory board

    Two Polish scientists: physicist Prof. Marek Kuś and electronics engineer Dr. Grzegorz Kasprowicz have been nominated to the group of twelve strategic advisers called Quantum Flagship. This flagship scientific initiative of the European Commission has a budget of 1 billion euros. Its goal is to develop quantum technologies.

    Professor Marcin Pałys, rector of the University of Warsaw, was elected member of the Board of the European University Association last week. EUA represents more than 800 universities in 48 countries. The organization plays a crucial role in the Bologna Process and influences EU policies on higher education, research and innovation.

    Polish expert in a French terrorism research team

    Dr. Grażyna Barbara Dąbrowska from the Department of Genetics, Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection of the Nicolaus Copernicus University won the 10th edition of the "Innovation is a Woman" competition. The winner is a co-author of a preparation from fungi and other microorganisms, which accelerates the decomposition of plastics.

    Płock/ Medal and reprint on the 150th birthday of Edward Flatau, the father of Polish neurology

    On the 150th birthday of Edward Flatau (1868-1932), the Warsaw Medical Society awarded the creator of Polish neurology the Włodzimierz Brodowski and Ludwik Paszkiewicz Medal. The District Medical Council in Płock issued a reprint of his 1912 monograph "Migraine".
